National Maritime Games

The National Maritime Games 2025 is an exciting and ambitious initiative led by the Directorate General of Shipping (DGS) aimed at uniting the maritime industry through the spirit of sportsmanship, collaboration, and camaraderie. The maritime sector plays a vital role in India's economy, making it essential to engage its stakeholders in ways that foster innovation, teamwork, and collective growth.

Scheduled to be held from March 25 to April 4, 2025, the Maritime Games 2025 will take place in Mumbai, culminating in a grand finale on April 5, 2025, which coincides with National Maritime Day.

The logo for the National Maritime Games was unveiled by the Honorable Union Cabinet Minister of the Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways on January 22, 2025.

  • Promote health and well-being within the maritime community, there is a strong emphasis on promoting physical activity and fitness among professionals.
  • Showcase the maritime sector’s rich history highlight its significant contributions to the nation's development and economy.
  • Strengthen teamwork and unity across various maritime entities, including ship management companies, crewing agencies, ports, training institutes, law firms, and others.

The games will feature 12 dynamic sports, including cricket, futsal, badminton, table tennis, marathon, golf, indoor rowing, chess, and swimming. This event will bring together participants from ship management companies, crewing agencies, ports, maritime training institutes, law firms, and other stakeholders. It is expected to attract over 3,000 participants from across the maritime sector, making it a significant occasion for networking, wellness, and industry collaboration.

This year’s event will be a single-location championship; however, the vision is to expand the Maritime Games into zonal championships (East, West, North, and South) in the coming years.

The Maritime Games 2025 align with the objectives of Khelo India – the National Programme for the Development of Sports. This initiative contributes to the holistic development of individuals, promotes national pride, and creates economic opportunities through sports.
