The role and functions of FAAPP branch inter-alia include:

• Making of Budget Estimates of the Directorate including its allied offices for sending to the Ministry for approvals and allocations under both Major Heads (Revenue expenditure and Capital expenditure) in the next Financial Year (FY).
• Making of Revised Estimates for the current FY.
• Distribution of budget allocations amongst various field offices and for DGS Hqs office at Mumbai.
• Monitoring of budget expenditure at Hqs level and for the Field offices of the Directorate.
• Handling and monitoring of matters related to internal audit.
• Handling and monitoring of the matters related to CAG Audit.
• Training of manpower at the DGS for capacity building in public procurement and other aspects related to finance.
• Guidance to various branches/wings of the Directorate on Procurement Notes and steps for public procurement.
