Role in IOPC Funds – As the highest contributor to the International Oil Pollution Compensation (IOPC) Funds, India plays a vital role in representing the Joint Audit Body. This ensures the efficient operation of the oil pollution compensation mechanism, providing financial resources for the cleanup and compensation in the event of an oil spill.
