India actively engages with a range of international maritime partners and platforms beyond formal multilateral mechanisms. These include strategic maritime corridors (e.g., INSTC, IMEEC), bilateral maritime safety arrangements, and legal cooperation with institutions such as UNCTAD and the World Bank. DGS is fostering legal reform in ship registration, port security, and trade facilitation, while also seeking greater participation in global maritime digital governance initiatives. Participation in forums such as Nor-Shipping and Posidonia is leveraged to attract maritime investments, showcase India’s seafaring excellence, and promote Make in India shipbuilding. Snapshots of partnerships with ASEAN, Pacific SIDS, Arctic Council observers, IAPH, IALA and beyond—showing the breadth of India’s maritime diplomacy.
