NSPC
The NSPC is committed to strengthening navigational safety within Indian port areas by implementing structured protocols aimed at reducing the risk of accidents, collisions, and other maritime hazards.
Key Updates
- A new NSPC notification has been forwarded to the Ministry for review and further action.
- The NSPC checklist and form have been successfully integrated into the National Single Window System (NSWS) and Sagar Mala digital platforms to streamline safety compliance processes.
- Ernst & Young (EY), serving as the Tier-1 Project Management Consultant (PMC), has received all relevant documentation to support assessment and implementation of the upcoming Geospatial Platform.
- Monitoring of Recognised Organisations (ROs), Bunker Suppliers, Fire Fighting Appliances (FFA), and Life Boat/Life Davit Service Stations continues to ensure full compliance and safety preparedness.
- The Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for integration with the Gati Shakti Geospatial Platform has been shared with the Directorate for coordinated planning and infrastructure mapping.
Implementation Status
- ISPS (International Ship and Port Facility Security) checklists and forms have been developed and are currently in testing mode on the NSWS platform.
- Form 1 is currently under revision to incorporate operational feedback and regulatory changes.
- A Geospatial Safety Platform is in the planning stage for implementation across four major ports:
- Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA)
- Kandla Port
- Paradip Port
- Vizhiqiam Port
