  • MSL Branch - II (for all referral matters on legal aspects related to three Technical wings / branch / division of Engineering / Nautical / Naval Architecture Divisions).
2 Dy. Director General of Shipping
  • MSL Branch - III (for all referral matters on legal aspects related to FAAPP, MTO Branch, Coastal Branch, MS Bill, Coastal Shipping Bill and Legislative Processes).
3 Executive Officer

  • Processing the files related to Merchant Shipping Bill, Coastal Shipping Bill, Navic Cell, Draft Bill/ Draft Cabinet Note from Ministry, Draft Cabinet Note(DCN/Bill) of other Ministries, National Shipping Board, Maritime National Law University (MNLU),Internship request from Intern, Legal advice to other branches &Vessel Sharing Agreement(VSA), Progress report regarding Global Maritime India Summit, 2023 when asked by Ministry from the MoU sign with stakeholders.
  • Monitoring/ Maintain the court case with allied and subordinate offices regarding LIMBS Portal.
  • Preparing Hindi Quarterly report.
  • Preparing RTI replies/ Grievances.
  • Provide material related to monthly D.O./RTI any miscellaneous information asked by the internal branch of DGS.

6 Maritime Legal Consultant, DG Shipping
  • Provides Legal opinion and legal assistance on all flies of the Directorate involving legal aspect.
  • Drafting and Vetting of Legal documents/ Agreements/ Show cause Notice/ DGS orders/ Circulars/Rules/ Guidelines.
  • Inputs, comments provided on the MOU/ Draft Bill/Draft Cabinet Note received from MoPSW and various other Ministry .
  • Legal advice, representation and assistance in all court cases behalf of Directorate General of Shipping.
